"Dorm Room Self Portrait" is a series of graphite drawings that I began in 2020, born out of a challenging period during quarantine. In the midst of daily life's chaos and clutter, I observed the subtle details that accumulated in my dorm room, representing my daily habits and state of mind. Without changing a thing, I photographed my room from various angles and transformed these images into drawings. The series expanded to encompass ordinary moments and experiences, from bus stop views to beach visits, partner memories, and encounters with nature. These drawings serve as fragments of myself, not in appearance but in how I live and what I value, capturing the essence of growth and self-discovery as a college student in an unfamiliar place. "Dorm Room Self Portrait" is a reflection of homesickness, nostalgia, and eagerness as I navigate adulthood, offering a glimpse into my evolving self through the lens of my surroundings.
