From the memories and stories of those old artisans, we see how Hands link the world’s past, present and future.To examine the different meanings of the use of our hands and how it changed which reflects the social change in parallel.
This contemporary piece is based on the stories of traditional artisans around Butterworth area. It is a work in progress that will eventually be performed as a final piece during Butterworth Festival 2018 in November.
This is the first Hin Bus Depot Artist Residency for dance. Supported by Cheong Fatt Tze Mansion and Carbon Artist Studio.

WORKSHOPS 1 - CONTEMPORARY DANCE 22ND JULY 2018, SUNDAY. 4PM The content of class is presented in the form of precise exercise, interaction with partners and structured improvisational task. he participants will have the opportunity to reflect physically on the process of generating movement. Through specific tasks, the workshop aims at working on body awareness, so that the participants will be given the chance to improve their physicality, their coordination and their creative potential. These activities are based on principles and practice drawn from the Erick Hawkins technique, the Somatic practices of Body Mind Centering, Mindfulness Meditation.

WORKSHOPS 2 - BIDAYUH ETHNIC DANCE (EAGLE DANCE) 22ND JULY 2018, SUNDAY. 5PM This dance is usually performed after the harvest season as a form of entertainment for guests of the longhouse. The movements of the dancers with outstretched hands imitate the movements of the eagles as they flap their wings in flight.
