Mercury is an all female artist exhibition that opens up discussion about creativity and gender. The symbol ♀️was first used as an element that represents the stigma of virgin females, however it is now being claimed by transgender activists. The ambiguity of the meaning as well as the sudden shift reminds one that gender roles are never fixed. Boundaries between sexes are fluid, constantly redefined by society and individual itself.
Hin Bus Depot and WABA proudly invite you to join us for an intimate sharing session by Mercury artists Gabija Grusaite, Louise Low, Annabelle Ng, Chuah Shu Ruei and Rebecca Wilkinson and listen about their life journey into arts as well as discuss after your own take on art, gender and creativity.
